Alberta Flooding
The staff of AdWest Marketing Inc.
wishes to express our heartfelt sympathy for the residents of all communities
who have been impacted by the flooding.
In anticipation of urgent planning
requests from advertisers wanting a presence in markets affected by the
historic flooding in Southern Alberta, AdWest prepared a series of maps to help
link the flooded areas with applicable publications.
These maps help to define the scope and scale of the flooding and most
importantly, provide advertisers with the ability to link their messaging
directly to those Albertans that have been affected by this disaster. We continue to receive requests from clients
for information that links relevant publications to the impacted areas.

Research Funding Request
The AdWest board has given approval to
develop a funding application to Heritage Canada that would focus on the
completion of a study designed to identify the differences in
behaviour/shopping habits/media consumption between rural and urban consumers.
While the application is still in the early stages of development and the
funding not guaranteed, we’re tentatively targeting a data launch for late 2013
or early 2014.
Community Newspaper 4 Year Comparative Circulation Data
A
4-year comparison of community newspaper circulations underscores that on the
prairies, local print media remains a thriving medium. Unlike other
legacy media who are struggling to preserve traditional relationships with
their audience, community newspapers appear to be drinking from the fountain of
youth and it shows with overall circulation virtually unchanged from four years
ago.
